Unicorn Hunt
 

after a long parched day I
roll you across my tongue,
a philtre

I dreamed of an olive grove
where we ran, nymphs, naked alike
and laughing, skins scaled
mother-of-pearl by the moonlight

we hunted unicorns - blood sport

when I woke the sheets were cold

I ran for the lift longing for you
and all day I was hydrophobic:
you'd think I'd never been in love before

I've drunk wine but not water
oh after such a drought rain would
intoxicate me
