ISHACK NABBS EVENT 3 AT COPA
Twentynine of Jamaica's top male and female surfers turned out for the third event of the 2007 JSA National Open Series on Sunday 30 June at the Copapabana surfing beach in 8 miles Bull Bay.

copa was pumping in overhead sets to the delight of the surfers and spectators who were on hand. The level of Jamaican surfing has improved over the past few years as can be seen, not only by the number of competitors but also by the calibre of surfing now on display at domestic events.

The event started at 9 am with the women's final which saw 5 entrants. Danielle O'Hayon drew first blood with 2 quick waves opening up some daylight between herself and the rest of the field. Young Elim Beckford pulled into some lovely set waves to the delight of the crowd on hand. Danielle grabbed the next to loud cheers from the fickle crowd on the beach. esther Beckford and Imani Wilmot were not to be outdone and picked off beauties of their own and dropped in drawing fluid lines across the right hand reef break. Beginner Sharea Samuels put on a brave and entertaining performance catching a wave and almost falling off, landed in a seated position and rode it into shore to much cheers from the supportive spectators,
