Welcome to the home of Jasta 9.
We are an On-line World War 1 German Squadron based on the Sierra produced aircraft simulator, Red Baron 2/3D. We hope you enjoy your visit.
The Jasta 9 was informally formed in late 1999 and officially began on January 4th 2000 with the upload of it's first web pages under the leadership of our commanding officer at the time, Fire. I took over the job of Commanding Officer later in 2000 when Fire was under increasing obligations elsewhere.
It has been a great honor and privilege to serve as CO of J9. The pleasure comes from the people that make up this squad as well as the strong friendships we've made throughout the Red Baron online community.
Early in our history we formed an alliance with the Psycho Circus 69. With the help of Kahnn, the CO of the Psycho Circus 69 squadron, he was kind enough to privide up with the second generation of this web page. Our current web developer, Scorpion, is currently working a completely new web site which will provide an increase in information presentation as well as a sharp look. Later, as the squad grew, our previous web developer, staff officer, and squadmate, Charlie, did a fantastic job of creating our latest web home, which you are visiting now. Our squad has several different flight groups with slightly different emphasis, which are lead by honorable and talented pilots. With great leadership, good communication, and a sense of honor, we hope to attract those who are looking for such a team. All you need to do is join. We are more interested in a person with character then a skilled pilot. Skill is easier to learn then character.
