The Sons of men.  You will please remember me to him in the Kindest Manner – I hope soon to write to him –

I must now give you a little news about myself.  I have been in excellent health & all my Family.  Thank God.  Since You heard last, I have now Six Sons, all fine healthy & tiring boys.  Their names are Charles, John, Thos., William, Robert, Samuel –

We have not been favoured with a daughter yet.

We are thankful for what the Lord has given & hope we shall have grace to bring them up right – no word of any promotion for me yet –

The Salary has enough to do now.  Your old neighbours all well.  William Allen Son of Charles has disgraced himself by theft.  He stole a watch, some say, two of them.  His Father is going to send him to Australia.  He has been an outlaw from his Father’s House for ? years or more.  The Eldest daughter of Hugh Morrison has got married to a farmer named Irwin, grandson of old Reid of  Cunghill(?) – Robert Morrison Son of Morrison the lime-burner has got married to a Miss Sproule from Coolaney – Chas. Dwyer has lost a daughter, Eliza, by consumption & John Walker of  Conane(?) has lost one of his Sons by a brain fever. Caused by over exertion at the Loy(?) – I told you in my last about the death of Chas Mitchell by drowning at the Sea –

The Clarke Family are getting on well, very industrious.  So is the Family

Of the late William Golden & Widow Mullins? & Jack Golden are tolerable – Your former neighbour the Dousg??a? Family are getting up in the world very fast –

John Brett of Tubbercurry lost his wife, who died very Suddenly last Augt. Of apoplexy.  Some say she was fond of Strong drink –

Mrs. Gray the young widow of old Hugo died same day of decline.  Sending(?) Love to four Friends.  Father Sisters & Brothers – may the Lord be with you all.

Your affectionate friend                         J. Hamilton
