Interested in joining Search and Rescue of Orange City?

	Here are some quesitons you need to ask yourself:
			
	Do I have the necessary time, money and commitment to obtain
	all the necessary training and certifications for myself and my dog?
	It will take a minimum of 1 to 2 years to attain mission ready status.
      The cost of training classes, equipment and certification testing is very
	expensive.

	Will you have the dedication to continue training once or twice a week to
	maintain your skills as well as your canine partner's?  

	Are you mentally prepared to deal with the pressure you will face on a 
	search?  Not all searches end the way we hope.  You will have to be 
	prepared to handle whatever you come across in a professional and 
	confidential manner.

	Am I willing to take responsibility for my own training and that of 
      my dog? Team members are always willing to help a newcomer  
      but we can not train your dog for you.  We can give suggestions  
      and assistance but ultimately you will be responsible for getting your
      dog mission ready.

		
	Some of the requirements to be a member are:

	Obtain NASAR SAR TECH certification (type II level is required for 
      deployment thru Florida State Agencies and FASAR)

	You must have a current CPR card

	Have medical training to First Responder level

	Have a no-code Technician level FCC certification 

	IS-195 Basic Incident Command System (on line course available at
