Interested in joining Search and Rescue of Orange City? Here are some quesitons you need to ask yourself: Do I have the necessary time, money and commitment to obtain all the necessary training and certifications for myself and my dog? It will take a minimum of 1 to 2 years to attain mission ready status. The cost of training classes, equipment and certification testing is very expensive. Will you have the dedication to continue training once or twice a week to maintain your skills as well as your canine partner's? Are you mentally prepared to deal with the pressure you will face on a search? Not all searches end the way we hope. You will have to be prepared to handle whatever you come across in a professional and confidential manner. Am I willing to take responsibility for my own training and that of my dog?
