1985 Monte Carlo
I purchased my Monte Carlo in 1997 with help from my parents for $1500. It had stock everything and served as my daily transportation through high school for 3 years. Then in the fall of 2000 I went to college and it sat in the garage for 4 years. Now that I'm out and making money I can do the build up I've always dreamed of for it. Check back for pictures and updates.
Here is a photo of the crate motor, which arrived the last week of July. The 305ci engine currently in the car will be getting pulled within the next two weeks and the TH-350 tranny behind it will be rebuilt.
The crate motor is a GM Goodwrench 350. The engine specs are 260 hp 350 ft/lbs of torque. It's not gonna set the world on fire, but will be a good building point for future modification.
UPDATE: 8/14/05*-*-*
The old 305 is finally out. It took most of two days to get the accessories disconnected and the engine pulled. Here are some photos of the removal.
UPDATE: 10/11/05*-*-*
Took my old TH-350 to McIntyre's Transmission and swapped it for a TH-350 tranny that was already rebuilt. I was going to have mine rebuilt but he had one on the shelf and I took it home the same day.
UPDATE: 10/15/05*-*-*
Bolted the tranny up to the 350 crate engine along with the new flexplate, harmonic blancer, pulleys, intake manifold, headers and water pump.

The new engine is in!! Finally posted photos!! You can see the frustration on my face on some of them. I could not get the engine lined up and had my father wrestle with it.
