Jason M. Weaver was born on July 18, 1979, in Chicago. His mother, Kitty Haywood, was a studio singer who encouraged and helped promote the development of Jason's singing and acting abilities. Jasons first big break in the entertainment business was when he got an opportunity to appear in a Coca-Cola commercial, singing and acting. His talent and energy propelled him into many other roles including a starring role on the TV series Brewster Place, based on the book The Women of Brewster Place written by Gloria Naylor. Jason went on to appear in a few smaller roles in childrens movies before he got the opportunity of a life time. A chance to star in "The Jacksons: An American Dream portraying none other than the young Michael Jackson. Jason's outstanding performance won him a Young Artist Award. The exposure from The Jacksons also landed Jason two more major roles. The first role was singing voice of Young Simba in the very popular Disney movie "The Lion King." For his vocal performance he won another Young Artist Award. Jason then went on to play Jerome Terrell in the short lived TV series "Thea", in which he played the troublemaking little brother to a young, pre-singing career Brandy Norwood. His next role was a starring role in an ABC movie of the week, "Summertime Switch" in which he played two completely different characters who are identical strangers and, needless to say, they switch places for the summer. In 1995, Jason's first album, Love Ambition," was released on Motown Records. In 1996 he released his second album, "Stay With Me" containing 6 new songs. Jason made guest appearances on a few popular shows before his next big role. Next for Jason was his role as Marcus Henderson, the big brother of a 10 year old whiz-kid on the WB so-called Sister, Sister spin-off show, "Smart Guy. This show started in 1997 and ran for 3 seasons. It can now still be found running in syndication on the Disney channel. In 2000, Jason appeared in the television movie Freedom Song, a movie about the Civil Rights movement in America. After a 2 year break he came back in 2002 with a role in the black college marching band movie Drumline, playing Ernest, a member of the illustrious drum-line. Next Jason reprised his role as Simbas voice in the Disney movie Mickeys PhilharMagic. Most recently Jason has been working on reintroducing himself into the music scene. His latest musical project has been his collaboration with rapper Chingy, singing the hook on his hit single, One Call Away. At the age of 24 Jason has already done so much. Now we can watch and see just what this talented young man can do.
