Do a search on google for "fish quilt block" and you get all kinds of angelfish and goldfish, but I dont think my grandpa ever caught one of those! So I drew one on the graph paper and broke it into sections and rows and paper pieced it together.

I started cutting a pair of blue pants, gray pants and a flannel shirt for the fins and then started with the bottom row.

Okay, somewhere I seriously messed up and cut at a wrong angle. The fish's fins were supposed to fit together much better than they do, but after ripping seams and resewing for 2 hours, I said good enough. Jonathan thought he turned out okay though, but that section of fin will always drive me nuts!
