I am currently in the process of revamping this website, and hopefully down the road, jasonvoigt.com! Be patient with me here. :)
I don't know about you, but I find the Letter People thing really cute, thanks to
yesterdayland.com. Welcome to my page. In case you don't know me, I'm Jason from Glen
Carbon, IL.
I graduated from Edwardsville High School
in 2000 (has it really been almost five years?). I am currently a student at SIUE. I am currently getting my general courses out of the way. I would like to get into studying television such as production and take more announcing classes. I spent three years at Lewis & Clark Community College. I graduated from the radio program there, but I still do a specialty shift there. I once served as the news director @ WLCA 89.9 in Godfrey. I currently do the flashback modern rock show WLC80s, heard on Sunday nights from 6 to 8. During the summer of 2002, I did my internship for Emmis Communications. I helped produce a Sunday morning show called 'Todays Issues', and my voice was heard on their stations (KHits, 97.1 talk, The Point, Kshe, the Mall (now The Red). I also helped run the control board at 97.1 during the I'm an ass show (or Imus show). It was a great experience, and I hope to work there someday. I hate nicknames, and I was once referred to as 'sloth'.
I am employed at Steak 'n Shake. I do
everything in the back. I started out doing dishes, working my way up to the
line. I have worked there for over six years.
I am very deep into pop culture. I have many favorite television shows and
movies. My favorite movies are Forrest Gump and the Back to the Future trilogy, and
I love 80s brat pack teen movies like The Breakfast Club.
My main interest is music. I am a huge music fan. I collect records and my CD and mp3 collection grows almost every day.
Many people know me as a walking music encyclopedia (compared to Joel Whitburn)
because I know almost any song in the rock era. Whenever somebody asks me who
sang a certain song or who wrote it or covered it, I pretty much know the
answer. I also know about one hit wonders to todays music. I listen to
almost anything. I have several favorite groups, and I listen to several tastes
of music.
