Upon visiting our farm I find myself so relaxed no matter what the weather is like back home. This place is just beautiful, the smell of the rice getting to the point where it is ready for harvest (anihan).
Here I am goofing around pretending to be one of the smart guys knowing what they are doing. I call it smart - ass now that is what I am doing.
But for my own thoughts, being a farmer is not an easy task. Dealing with the weather, old fashion technology, barefoot and sometimes lack of manpower can really delay the process of harvesting the crops. I had my own taste of being a farmer when I was young and I have sworn not to do it again. Imagine being on the heat almost like an oven and your back is aching for repetitive bending over as you can see in one of my pictures below.
This is in the rest house (pilapil). This is where you rest after a long day of work as you can see that is what I am doing (not!) The house is just made of shanty from cardboard and plywood. The little lot also have different varieties of vegetables surrounding the lot like string beans, eggplant, tomatoes and lots more. Really this place is made in heaven all you need is here well except for the electricity.
