Now for a brief synopsis of Bleach: Kurosaki Ichigo looks just like any average 15 year old teenager with only one big difference; he can see ghosts/spirits. Rukia Kuchiki, a Shinigami (Soul Reaper) is out on a mission to find an evil spirit called a Hollow. The Hollow’s target is none other than Ichigo. Rukia and Ichigo confront each other for the first time. Ichigo’s family gets endangered by the Hollow and the only way to stop it was for Rukia, who was injured, to transfer her Shinigami powers to Ichigo who had a strong spiritual force. The concurrence of Rukia and Ichigo leads to many adventures, with a lot of humor along the way. Ichigo helps Rukia fight off Hollows and keep the town safe. The story continues with many twists and turns with action, adventure and comedy.

Kurosaki Ichigo

Kurosaki Ichigo is the main character of Bleach. He's a 15 year-old high school student who's life is drastically changed upon meeting Kuchiki Rukia, a Shinigami (Death God). Besides being able to see ghosts, perhaps Ichigo's most notorious feature is his orange hair...

Upon meeting Kurosaki Ichigo, both her life and his life were drastically changed. In order to save Ichigo's family, she gave up her Shinigami powers by giving them to Ichigo, who already had enormous spiritual power. Because of this, she's force into using a "false" body.

Orihime Inoue

Best friends with Arisawa Tatsuki, this large-chested high school girl likes Ichigo a lot. Orihime often tends to daydream, and tends to drool when she does so. Her latent spiritual powers were awakened by her recent contacts with Ichigo. She is good at sewing.

Sado Yasutora

Nicknamed "Chad" by his friends, this almost 6 and a half foot behemoth is extremely strong, and can pretty much take any kind of punishment. Lived in Japan until his parents died, and then lived with his grandfather in Mexico for a while. He's now back in Japan. Chad also has a love for cute things...

Urahara Kisuke

Urahara runs a shop filled with various spirit-orientated items in the human world. Apparantly he is a renegade Shinigami (Death God), is the founder and first president of Soul Society's Research Institute of Technology, and the former captain of the 12th Division of the 13 Shinigami divisions. Ichigo tends to call him "hat and clogs."

Ishida Uryuu

Ishida (no one ever seems to call him by his first name, Uryuu) is the last of the Quincy, a group of people who used their spiritual powers to completely exterminate hollows. Because they didn't send the hollows to heaven or hell, the Quincy were exterminated in order to keep a proper balance between the souls of Earth and Soul Society. Ishida hates the Shinigami because two Shinigami were late in helping his grandfather fight hollows. Has an intense rivalry with Ichigo because of this.

Well that's really all I can tell you about Bleach without ruining any of the story. It's a good anime, and if you're thinking about checking it out, here's a link to every episode. But you need a program called Bittorrent to download the episodes. Search on google for Bittorrent if you don't have it already.
