| Step Twenty One
Now I thin the handles down a little and create a small step leading up to the edge. This helps prevent the cord from sliding forwards. I do not grind a step in the spine of the blade because i feel this would weaken the knife. I also deburr the handle. |

| Step Twenty One
Next step is to seal the handle area with a lacquer. This helps prevent corrosion from forming underneath the wrapping. First i mask the bottom of the blades off, then stick the blades inside a piece of cardboard. Next I spray them with several coast of clear lacquer and allow them to dry. Once the lacquer has dried I peel off the tape. |

| Step Twenty Two
I now use 500 grit sandpaper and hand sand the blade. This helps smooth out the finish and removes any buffing compound that may be clinging to the surface. I prefer to work with the paper wet, it leaves a smoother surface. |
