| Now before I delve too deep into the abyss that I seem to embody, you gotta understand a couple things. One; the most important aspect of my life is my friends. I place no aspiration, goal, thing, median, priority higher than I do my friends. And Two; sea lions are so tight that I wanna slap my little brother. With that said.. look! There's a sea lion! What are the odds that just as I am talking about sea lions, a little sea lion would randomly plop down next to the visual representation of my thoughts! Wowee! |

| So I know a lot of people. That's not to say that everyone I know is a friend of mine, it just means that I have met lots and lots of people over the years mostly due to the efforts of my friends who happen to be quite social, thus making me social by association (yay being social without having to do anything!!) Now among all the people I know, they are basically all divided up into 5 groups, with a little mixing every now and then. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| So you got yer Acquaintances. You know, them people that you met that one time at a party or in a class.. and then you find out that some of your friends know them too.. so you see that person whenever there's a big party or gathering or if you go to class. .. | Friends. Friends are those people that you meet and hang out with every now and then, but generally not on a one-on-one basis. Like if you decide you wanna go to the movies and you call up more than 2 other people. Generally at least one of the at least 3 people going is a good friend, and the others are generally friends or better. Which leads us to.. Friends |

| Good friends. These are the people that you hang out pretty regularly and you talk to about your everyday problems like homework or parents that just won't get off your back about keeping small rodents in the bathtub whenever the sun doesn't blow up. Ha. Try to work out THAT one. Anyway, these are the ones you will have a decent chance of hearing from even if you part ways for reasons of career or whatever, but you also won't be terribly surprised if the contact doesn't last for terribly long once you don't see them all the time. | Family. Family is typically those people that you share blood with. Now there's always exceptions to that rule, like adoptees and people married into the family and the like. But basically all I want to say about family is that for some people, friends are more important than family. This is typically because you didn't get to choose your family, but one typically chooses who one hangs out with and calls "friend". For me, the traditionalist, family should take priority. Which is why my really close friends I consider family. So they still take precedence :o). Family |

| Best friends and Best Friend. Now you may be thinking; "Ha, that's just plural of the same thing!" Well, kinda, but not really. Notice the tell tale capitalization of "friend". This signifies an important distinction between the two. I have a few best friends, each one I know I could trust with just about anything, from my life savings to a story about the time when my mom walked in on me with that cheerl.. i mean, uh.. personal stories. Cough. Anyway, one can hang out with a best friend whenever however where ever and it won't really matter what you're doing or if there's anyone else around. The main difference between a best friend and a Best Friend is the connection. I know for a fact that my Best Friend would never tell a soul anything I tell her about anything; even if it were to cause some catastrophic event (not that I would ever put you in that position Ash ;o) I also know that if I ever did something she didn't agree with, she would argue with me about it and yell and do whatever it took to make me see I was wrong, then support my decision anyway when she realized I was just gonna have to see my error for myself. Both best friends and my Best Friend I know I will keep in touch with throughout hell and damnation and know that they'll always be there to get me out of a jam :o) Best Friends |
