Comics!
yea not spiderman.. more like dilbert.. or tycho brahe..
Ok, so each comic will have a link to the site where i got it from, the name of the artist/writers, maybe a little bit about what their comics are typically about so on and so forth. if you know of any cool comics (regularly funny.. not one hit wonders please) lemme know and i'll put 'em up after contacting the webmaster (gotta be legal and such)
PvP Online
New comic! Isn't it hilarious, i just love the little ferret sounds. adds a nice touch, and such. Ah, unintentional rhyming, yay! i find incidental rhyming SO much more gratifying than deliberate, don't you? ah, thought soOk, so the writer is Scott Kurtz and he is based out of Texas or some where over there. PvP stands for Player vs Player (for all you non gamers out there) and so obviously his comic tends to focus on online gaming. The plots and storylines center around a cast of several characters who work for an online gaming magazine. The characters range from the cynical artist to the punk kid who happens to be un-naturally good at anything computers to a large blue troll. yes, i did in fact say a large blue troll. There are a few other regular characters as well as cameo appearances by random others. The writer has a cynical humor that is occasionally inconsistent, but generally funny. An added bonus is that often you will get reviews of new games and movies within the comics as the characters discuss in a humorous fashion this or that short coming about a game or about the industry in general.

Penny Arcade
As you can see from this sample.. Penny Arcade neither sticks to the already broad category of "video game industry" nor cares how much they swear in any given 3 second period. Penny Arcade (known as PA from here on out) is written and artistically rendered by Tycho and Gabe.. not sure if these are pseudonyms or not.. not terribly important either way though, of course. They're based out of WASHINGTON (w00t) and commute to Canada every now and then. The cast is among the best parts of this comic (everything is great really). There is a terribly anti social and insulting guy named BatJew (lol) who sports a tshirt featuring the batsignal with the ears of the bat being replaced by a Manora (sp?). That alone should convince you to visit the site, even if Batjew is more of a post guy than a regular character in the comic. There are a LOT of characters so i prolly won't tell you about them all here. But the two main guys are those two in that comic, Tycho in the blue and Gabe in the yellow. Yes, that is a pac-man on Gabe's shirt. He is obsessed with Pac-Man in the comic. Just for a taste check out this. Anyway, they talk about most everything you might expect from a gaming site. Mini game reviews, upcoming release dates, industry news etc etc. Something you won't find on most sites is the import section. They have an import-mod'ed ps2 and gc that allows them to play the jap version of games before they are released here in the US, and so they kinda tell you about as much of the game as possible w/o knowing japanese and if it's a worthy import and such. Another interesting aspect of the site is that their daily posts and comics are rather related. This comic, ie, was probably created during "The Great Snickers Commercial" Era of the late 1990's. Some of the posts probably had something to do with some of the great commercials including the all time classic "Batman/Coach" commercial (for description see amanda or myself) Other points of interest are the list of Idiots, which are quotes by stupid online gamers.. and the love and hate section written by BatJew and Kara(gabe's gamin wife) It's kind of a question and answer about most anything you can think of. So go now!
Anyway, this is my favorite site, and can be viewed at
www.penny-arcade.com make SURE you put that hyphen in there people..
