DALLAS DRAFT NEWS - January 9

Dallas appears to be focusing on solid young talent in the early stages of the draft. After making a big splash by drafting Martin Brodeur with their first pick, GM Jason Jones has focused on young stars, up-and comers in the league. Said GM Jones, "I want to focus on the future of this team for some time, and that is my priority in this draft. Many of the established stars will still be there when the draft is over, and we can sign them at a much lower price!" When asked what free agents he might pursue after the draft, he smiled and replied, "Whichever ones we feel like!"

IST OVERALL PICK FOR THE STARS - January 4

The Stars made a big splash at the draft, taking goaltender Martin Bordeur with the fourth overall pick of the draft. Says general manager Jason Jones, "Goaltending is the most important position in hockey, and I wanted to make sure that I had the very best! While I am normally a very frugal manager when it comes to payroll, I felt it was neccessary to spend to get the goalie I wanted. I hope this lets the fans know that I am serious about building a championship team for years to come!"

DALLAS CARES ENOUGH TO HIRE THE BEST--Jan 1

The Dallas Stars organization released a bombshell tonight naming Jason Jones, arguably the best general manager of all time, as their new general manager. Stars owner Tom Dallas was seen jumping up and down with excitement after the hiring was finalized. He later admitted that Jason Jones was their first and only choice. With Jones as their gm, Dallas Stars will likely have a powerhouse of a team for years to come. Jones brings an instant credibility to the team and to the league.
