| Well, Chris was really nagging me to get these poems of his up (That's a joke Chris)... So, here they are... They are really good poems, written on a whim... They are some of the best free verse I have ever seen... I know, if you have any taste in poetry, will enjoy them as much as I have. _________________________________________________________________________________________ |
| "Control" (6.30.03) I am not controlled by my heart, but by machines I feel not the warm sun of love and freedom on my chest, but the cold harsh clattering of keyboards and mouses and metal I am not free The cursor blinks, frantically, impatiently... Waiting for me to make something of it, to make something out of nothing... As if I have complete control, when in fact it is the other way around For even though I can create words, I am a slave to the machine, to the processes, to the habits, the rituals And I am not free ________________________________________________________________________________________ "Earth" (6.30.03) Earth. A beautiful mass. An ugly mass. People. Waves of people. Many uncaring, or unknowing. Ignorant or blind toward the truth. Living a lie, living in masked shame. In fear... Others, living in truth. Sometimes sacraficing happiness. Jaded and cynical, and unable or unwilling to help others. I carry a great weight upon my shoulders. I choose to live with the heavy weight of truth, rather than the breeze of blissful ignorance. I will never stop. I will wake up to face tomorrow. ________________________________________________________________________________________ "The Blind Man" (6.30.03) The businessman parks his Benz in the driveway of his home The soccer mom stops at Wendy's to feed her children The prisoner washes his body with soap The police officer serves and protects... against what he caused The student in the desk opens up his mind The teacher corrupts it It all depends on your point of view How do you see it? Nothing is the same Yet nothing will ever change The broken woman hides in her tears The homeless man lives with his fears The world is blind... and the blind man is happy ________________________________________________________________________________________ |
