VISITING ASSIYEAH IN ENGLAND, SPAIN, and POLAND, UPDATES...

18 April 2005 ---JOURNAL ENTRY THIRTY-SEVEN---

Oh god, sorry sorry sorry for neglecting you, I see it's been 3 months since the last update. I have no excuse except for the fact that in the last 94 days I have been on holiday 27 of those days, working my ass off some others and busying myself with personal projects that I'll get to in a moment.

Assiyeah is in Cambridge, England until July 1st. She lives with 6 French students and their English is not good. And they drink too much. But anyway, I went to visit her two months ago, we visited London and stayed with Arianna and her husband Edward (thanks you two!) but unfortunately I was sick most of the trip, ended up last 3 weeks actually, it was pretty intense. Then we had 3 weeks where we didn't see each other and then we met Stefan and Caro in Spain for a 10-day trip to Andalusia, which is a part of Spain. We saw Seville and then stayed in a timeshare (thanks mom and dad!) near Marbella which was way too nice for us but we loved it! We saw some of the Easter procession in Malaga and visited some beautiful villages, namly Ojen, Arcos de la Fronterra, and Antequerra. Then two weeks ago I went to Krakow, Poland with Maya and Danielle in hopes of finding the village in Slovakia where Danielle's family comes from. We just happened to be there right after the pope died and he came from Krakow and it was intense, how many candles and praying people and somberness there was. Now about work...

I'm a busy kitty. I will have up to 42 teaching hours a week for the next few months, that's about 33/week for you normal folk out there who work the 9 to 5 thing. Normally I work about 25 hours a week but I wanted to be busier this semester while Assiyeah was gone so I wouldn't have to be sit in my room and think about how I miss her, dig? Also, I need the money for the rest of my rigorous holiday schedule which will knock your socks off...I'm a little ashamed to brag so shamelessly but I would say it's about impossible how lucky I am with holiday so here goes:

January 1-5 Amsterdam

Feburary 10-21 Cambridge/London

March 17-27 Andalusia, Spain

April 6-11 Krakow, Poland and Podolinec, Slovakia

May 13-28 Norway

June 23-27 Cork, Ireland

July 29-Sep 11 LA,SF,DC,Philly, NYC, Boston, Portland, Toronto

Oct 28-Nov 7 Sitia, Crete, Greece

Dec 16-Jan ?? LA for Xmas

That's about 120 days of holiday this year! Of course I'll still need to fit a few more days in there somehow, whether going to Nice, France for the tour de france or who knows but I'm a lucky SOB, right? I must say that I wanna thank my folks for having offered to pay for Assiyeah's ticket to America this summer and that we'll be able to stay with them sometimes in some nice hotels back east, the trip would be much different without them so thanks again, ma and pa!

I'm on page 40 of Snakk om flaks, I'm almost done with it. I can't believe I'm about to say that I have written a 50-page book in Norwegian and I plan to sell it in Norway next month! I'm also a crazy SOB! My photo exhibition is coming up soon, just 2.5 weeks ago, it'll be cost me about 500euro (650 bucks) to put on the exhibition, but it's going to kick ass methinks! All right, that's about all from my front, things are great, I'm busy and I hope one of you is coming to visit one of these days! Ciao
