Finally and big time summer blockbuster that is not a sequal. Although I am sure they will make about 16 of these before it is all said and done. "Transformers" is a movie based on the toy the came out about 20 years ago. Basically transformers are robots that can transform themselves into vehicles or other electronics like radios or cell phones. There are good transfomers (Autobots) and bad transformers (Decepticons). Both good and bad are trying to find this "cube" from their home planet that will give the possesor absolute power over nerds. Shia LeBeouf plays a kid that is getting his first car that happens to be an autobot (Bumble Bee). He is alos falling in love with Megan Fox (yowza!). A lot of robot violence happens and a lot of transforming takes place.

This movie might have the best special effects that I have ever seen! Nothing looked fake. It really looked like the robots were transforming. This is a Michael Bay (director) movie so it is way over the top. But every one knows that I really don't care about that. I think it's kind of fun. The story is cool. I love the plot of a teenager getting involved in something like this. I have been saying for years that we need more movies like "Goonies" where the kids are part of an adventure and it's not some family comedy. There is a little bit of language and a whole lot of fun. My only complaint is that when the robots are talking it gets pretty hokey. Although Optimus Prime's voice is the same guy that did it on the cartoon, so that is cool. The movie is almost 2 and half hours, but it never felt like it. Anyway, go see this movie! The theater will be full of guys that have never talked to a girl!
