Spiderman 3

The first big blockbuster of the summer…and what a disappointment. First off it’s almost 2 1/2 hours! For a comic book movie! That’s ridonkulous. At last count it has 140 minutes, 3 villains, 2 Spidermen and 14,000 plots. I don’t really even know how to describe the plot. Peter loves MJ, they have a fight. Harry still wants to kill everyone. Spider-Man turns black. They make a lot of money and subject us to no less than two more sequels. For me the plot was all over the place. It’s like they said to themselves, “I’m not sure what to do in this movie, so let’s do everything we can think of. No ideas are bad ideas!”. Well, unfortunately yes there are. There is one specific scene where Peter Parker dances and I think it maybe was supposed to be funny, but it was just embarrassing. I was embarrassed for Tobey Maguire! And it’s hard to be embarrassed for Tobey Maguire because he is such a tool. There were too many villains. The lone bright spot was Topher Grace, who I believe is one of the most talented guys in Hollywood. By the way, I still don’t think the effects are very good in these movies. It just looks to cartoony. I know everyone will want to see this and if you do you should see it on the big screen. So if you have to see it my recommendation is at best… |
