For the first time this summer we have a sequel and not a threequal! Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean it’s good. FF: TRotSS is the second installment of the Fantastic Four adaptation from the comic book. This time Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and Sue Storm (Jessica Alba…nice!) are getting married. Unfortunately for them the Silver Surfer crashes the wedding, causing the foursome to come together and create crazy comic book chaos. Who is the Silver Surfer you ask? He is an alien who rides a surfboard and looks like a silver Oscar. Oh, by the way, you can’t kill him, so good luck.

This movie is really pretty dumb. I know I know it’s a comic book movie, so it’s supposed to be a little bit cheeseball. I can give it a bit of a pass because of that, but not much. Especially because there have been such great movies based on comic books lately. Batman Begins, Spider Man 2, X-Men 2 (notice I did not say Spider Man 3 or X3, both sucked) were all great. I even kind of liked Ghost Rider. But this one just didn’t quite cut it for me. Also, there will undoubtedly be a number 3.
