A biopic about Hector Lavoe (Marc Anthony), a famous salsa singer who made it big and then let it all come crashing down because of drugs and women. This also stars Jennifer Lopez as Hector's wife Puchi and is told from her perspective. The biggest problem with this is that I have no idea who Hector Lavoe is. What makes it worse is that I have already seen this movie twice when they called it "Ray" and "Walk the Line." The problem is if I knew who Hector was I might care, but I don't so I, well, don't. There might be some people in the Latin community who knows who he is and might really enjoy this; I don't know. This movie takes place in the 70s and 80s but is filmed and edited really contemporarily. It just didn't fit. It's kind of like a "Behind the Music" but not very good. The music in it is really good though, and so is the singing. Sadly, that's not enough. Sorry Puchi.
