8.12.00 - Our Engagement Party was today. It was so nice to have so many people come to wish us well on our upcoming marriage. Lots of family and friends attended. The party was at my grandparent's lake house in LaGrange on Lake West Point. It was catered by the same people that will cater the wedding reception. 8.26.00 - Today we bought THE dress and veil. My mom also bought her dress for the wedding too. It is a beautiful shade of pink. We were only supposed to look today, but once I tried on THE dress, we decided to go ahead and buy it. The dress is a size 18! So, needless to say, alterations will be needed (c:. I am starting to get excited!
12.02.00 - My first shower was today!!! It was given by Sara Stanford in LaGrange. It was a Christmas Shower, so Jason and I got lots of great things to decorate our new apartment.
12.19.00 - Since the last time I
wrote, we have ordered the bridesmaids dresses and they should be back by the
end of January or the first of February. I think they are going to look
great on my gorgeous bridesmaids. Our bridal party is going to be
stunning!
*All the catering and florist things are being done by the same people, so all
that is taken care of. The photographer has been booked and we still haven't
decided really what we are going to do about the Videography.
*We had our engagement photos done a few weeks ago. Well, they weren't
like real engagement photos, but its the professional photograph we are going to
use for our wedding announcements in the LaGrange
Daily News and Griffin Daily News.
*My 1st dress fitting will be on January 5th and the follow up fitting will be
soon after. I have my bridal portraits set up for the 10th of February.
*We are getting things ready in the apartment. Hopefully, we will have
furniture right after Christmas so I can move in before we have to go back to
school after the holidays.

12.21.00 - 92 days left until the BIG DAY! Jason and I saw what we want to give the bridesmaids as gifts today. I'm not going to say what they are, just in case some of the bridesmaids read this.... but believe me, it is a great gift. No cheap stuff here (c:
1.18.01 – I can’t believe that 2000 is already over with! When Jason and I got engaged in June, March seemed so far away, but now we are less than 3 months away from the big day. VERY EXCITING. By the way, I am in the new apartment now. But, I am sleeping on a bed in Jason's office (long story).
I went for my dress fittings and they really went off without a hitch. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would. I will go back to pick up my dress on Feb. 9th, the day before my Bridal Portraits.
I found out the other day that Jason’s family will be having a shower for us on the 3rd of Feb. and that his mom and dad's church is going to have a tea in our honor (March 3rd). I talked with 2 of my bridesmaids and they have decided to have a lingerie shower for me. Jason is very excited to say the least (c: j/k. I can’t believe how many showers we are having. I’m sure that someone will throw a Tool and Garden Shower for Jason even though right now we are living in an apartment.
Oh, I forgot.. We ordered the invitations on the 15th. They are really nice and really say a lot about Jason and I (they are simple). They should be back next week. Can you believe they will be back so fast??
1.27.01 - Our invitations and napkins are back! The invitations are beautiful. I just can't stop looking at them. Yesterday, Jason and I went and bought our wedding bands. We both got 4mm 14k bands. The inscription on the inside will be Jason & Holly 3/24/01 Gen.2:24. Gen. 2:24 is a verse that talks about leaving your mother and father and cleaving to your mate and becoming one flesh.
Today, my mom and a friend of hers came to Griffin. I went to have my pre-bridal hair appointment so we could decide on what my hair would look like for the bridal portraits and the wedding. I can't believe I had so much hair for the lady to work with (c: We also looked for silk roses to make my bouquet for the bridal portraits. I will have real roses for the wedding. We didn't find any, but we still have a week (c:
2.10.01 - Our wedding is about 6
weeks away. Our wedding bands came back on Monday. They are so
pretty. Today, I was supposed to get my bridal portraits done. I decided
against it a few weeks ago. I just couldn't risk something happening to my
dress. We will have plenty of pictures with my dress on anyway.
Jason picked out the tuxes and they look really sharp. The jackets are the
ones that are cut high. Does that make sense? Anyway, the have the regular ties
and shirts too. They aren't the regular tuxes with bow ties. I can't wait
to see the guys in them!! The bridesmaids dresses are going to be about 3 weeks
late getting in. They were supposed to be in at the beginning of February, but
they called and said it was going to be more like the 26th before they come in.
That's less than a month before the wedding!!
3.15.01 - We have a little less than 9 days until the wedding. We are so excited! We bought the paper for our programs tonight and Jason is taking the day off tomorrow, so he will run them off and we will fold them at church on the automatic folder (thank God for the automatic folder!). The guest book picture, mat and frame should be done Wednesday. We are meeting with the photographer on Tuesday at the church to kind of do a walk though of the pictures we want. Thursday is when the fun begins. I have 3 close friends coming up and we are going to The Cheesecake Factory for a nice dinner then I think we are going to head over to the Hard Rock Cafe to see The Return perform. They are a Beatles tribute band and they are awesome! It should be a fun night. Friday, we will have pedicures and manicures around noon and then rest for the rest of the day until 6 when the rehearsal dinner starts.
