ERIC Research Project Reflection

Throughout my research, I have found many new technology ideas to think about. Much of the geometry research that I found was dated. I found that being able to use even the older ideas was helpful. Just because articles are older, doesn't mean that they don't have a wealth of information to offer. Some of the entries that I found were things that we did when I was in grade school. It was interesting to see how far we've come in the world of technology. With all the dated material, I was a little frustrated because I hadn't found more information within the last few years. Since our technology has taken off, I was positive that I would be able to find lots of new software ideas and ways to integrate technology. My results were disappointing. However, I am anxious to begin looking deeper into a few of the research ideas and finding some way to use them in my classroom.

I have done many papers and used EBSCO Host frequently. I never dealt with ERIC, solely. Some of the articles that I found were very hard to cite. I found myself searching for journal titles and page information and it was unavailable on some of the articles I found. APA sometimes isn't very friendly when you are given less information. Overall, I feel it worked out well.

Finally, I became slightly stressed with this project as we came to the end of the semester. I didn't realize how fast it came to a close and I was behind. With a little focus, I was able to complete it on time and feel good about my progress. I really enjoyed learning to use the descriptors to help extend my search and will continue to use them when I struggle to find specific articles. Overall, I am happy with the way things turned out.
