I Hate the Rain

The unrelenting rain died down
And the overcast sky was clear
I gave to you my beating heart
And everything that I held dear

And in return I asked for naught
Except your love and honesty
I thought for once that things had changed
That I could live life happily

But ultimately I was wrong
For happiness was much presumed
And case by case the storm crept back
Until once more I was consumed

And in the end I made a choice
Of suffering or suffering
I look back at my better pick
And constantly Im wondering

Once more I stand alone and cold
Subdued to this eternal rain
Constantly I start crying
As each and every drop brings pain

Now failing is my remnant hope
and closing are my heavy eyes
Cloudy are the dark horizons
So I lay down prepared to die

Then I see you in the distance
I swear the clouds start to disband
With teary eyes and broken heart
I try to reach and take your hand

I want things to work out alright
Im tired of these wretched storms
I must know if you still love me
And will you take my hand in yours?
