Farewell to Suffering
On this dawn of sorrow
The pain I feel is great
In this lonesome meadow
Where all I know is hate
Then I see her coming
I know I'm not alone
Her grace helps wtih numbing
The suffering I've known
The moon cast its shadow
But her eyes light the way
My heart feels so hollow
I once wished for this day
The wind becomes violent
I long to hold her close
As we go we're silent
A choice that we both chose
She knows she holds my fate
In her trembeling hand
I know now it's too late
A fact that I can stand
I look into her eyes
And see into her soul
Then a part of me cries
As I long to be whole
She has a look of pain
That I don't like to see
So I take it away
And make it a part of me
Her smile is so soothing
And her voice is so sweet
Her words are quite moving
I know now I'm complete
Now I'm in her embrace
I feel that I'm happy
But I know it's a race
Time will take her from me
I know that I won't cry
And I will not fret
I'll cherish all the time
With her that I can get.
