My name is Jasmine Pichardo. I am 16 years old and I'm currently a sophomore at ITW David Speer Academy in Chicago. I come from Mexican decent and I will hopefully be the first in my nuclear family to attend college. I enjoy watching and playing soccer and singing. I've lived in Chicago, Utah, California, Mexico, and Montana. I spent most of my childhood in Ogden, Utah and then moved to Chicago in 2007. Since I moved to Chicago, I struggled with bullying. Being the "new girl" caused me to be a target for immature children to poke fun of. I attended John Palmer Elementary School until the 3rd grade. I attended 4th grade in Luther Burbank Elementary School and transferred to CICS West Belden for 5th grade until I graduated in the Class of 2014. I went to CICS Northtown for my first semester of freshman year until I transferred (for the very last time) to ITW, where I attend today!
I want to major in Astrophysics! Astrophyics is a branch of space science that uses physics and chemistry to learn about the birth of stars, planets, and solar systems. When I was about 4 years old, my family and I lived in Montana. My parent's had a ceiling window in their bedroom and we could see all the stars at night. Watching the full moon through their window was my favorite part. Since then I've become interested in planets, stars, and galaxies.
