William Kerr William Kerr was my g-g-g grandfather, who was born in Ireland August 12, 1805. His wife, Jane Hamilton, was also born in Ireland February 17, 1811 and they were married May 20, 1830, possibly in Ireland just before they immigrated to the United States. William and his wife lived in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wartburg, Morgan County, Tennessee before moving to Ozark County, Missouri in 1861. William applied for, and received a homestead of 80 acres in Fulton County, Arkansas and settled on the land by February 20, 1867. The certificate he received was Homestead Certificate #5, and was signed by U. S. Grant. William and his wife Jane are buried in the Flutie Cemetery in Baxter County, Arkansas. |
