After completing 3rd year high school I was relocated to Guam and continue my high school year (plus 2 extra years, American High School Standard) where I graduated in 1967. After graduation I was drafted in the US Army on January 1968 and went to basic training at Fort Ord, California. After basic training I was sent to Fort Gordon, Georgia for my Advanced Individual training (A.I.T) for my military occupational specialty (MOS). After A.I.T. I volunteer to go to Fort Benning, Georgia to be a paratrooper (airborne)then Special Forces (The Green Berets) and after going through all this training I was sent and serve two years in the Republic of South Vietnam (South Vietnam, it was called then) during the Vietnam conflict with the 5th Special Forces Group (68-69) and 25th Infantry Division (69-70). After my tour of 'Nam (slang word for Vietnam) I was sent to Frankfurt, Germany where I met my wife in 1970 and married on July 21, 1971 (coincide with Guam Liberation Day) and still married to this day. I ended up re-enlisting after my marriage and spent three tours of Germany, one tour of Korea and the following stateside assignment were Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Ord, California; Fort Bragg (Home of the Airborne), North Carolina and Fort Huachuca, Arizona (Sierra Vista, AZ) where I retired in 1988.

After retirement I went back to Guam and work for the Guam Telephone Authority from 1989-1995. In July of 1992 I had a mild heart attack and had to be med-evac'ed to Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii where I underwent a quadruple heart bypass because four of my arteries that provided blood flow to my heart were 94% clogged up. In December of 1995 I retired from the Government of Guam under medical disability.
In July of 1996 my family and I returned in Sierra Vista because of my medical condition and availability of specialists to take care of my health. Unfortunately, in February of 2000 I had to underwent a second heart bypass 'cause one of my artery from my initial operation was 90% clogged.
At present I'm doing fine and have to visit my doctor every four months to ensure my health is up to par and with the help of prescribed medications.
