WHAT HAPPEN TO ME AFTER JASHS - ARELLANO

I enrolled at the Mapua Institute of Technology, school of Mechanical Engineering from where I graduated in 1970

I then started building my carrer as an engineer with a construction firm (H.R. Lopez Co 1971) which was part of a consortium that built the Pantabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I found the job so limited to a very narrow band of a very wide field of Mechanical Engineering so I decided to transfer to a fertilizer manufacturer (Planters Products, Inc., 1971-75) in Limay, Bataan. While working as Training Asst., I realized that I needed to supplement my engineering knowledge with the pragmatism of businessmen so I went to De La Salle University's Graduate School of Business (1975-77) for my MBA while working as Maintenance Division Manager of Columbia Tobacco Co.(1975-77) in Mandaluyong. While preparing for my thesis defense, I was hired by an American international shipping line (Sealand Service, Inc. 1977-96) where I grew up to be the #2 man in the Philippine organization. After my retirement, I was hired by the operator of the Manila International Container Port, (ICTSI 1997-2000) as Vice President and General Manager of a $20M subsidiary, ICX Corporation, a pioneering venture in hauling containerized cargo by rail.

While in Bataan, I met and married the former Priscila C. Mendoza, with whom I have 4 lovable children, Zerlyn (now Dentist), Vernilee (now a Medical Doctor), Lucheevette (now a Physical Therapist) and Larzon (graduating in March 2003 as Electronics & Communications Engineer).

For my hobbies I enjoy hand-gun target shooting, bowling, billiard, biking, photography, and learning new things like computer programming in Visual Basic.
