What is Freedom?

Freedom is the Opportunity to Fail. Freedom is also the opportunity to be incorrect. This would include politically incorrect? In the hurry to be 'correct' we often miss the Truth? For example, why were we granted the right to bear arms. Was it so we could all register our handguns? Was it so we could watch on the news as citizens are shot by the police authorities when the get an address backwards?
And the right to free speech, was it granted so that we would not offend our fellow man, the majority or the minority. Was there a purpose
