Dear Editor:
When a male police officer arrests a dangerous criminal and the media show up inevitably a female officer is trotted in for the photo ops implying she had something to do with the apprehension even if she was nowhere near the location at the time of the arrest.
Whenever the media arrives, the first thing they look for is the nearest female officer. Female officers are pictured leading arrested persons to a police care suggesting they had something to do with the case. Often the female officers are brought ot the location strictly for the media pictures.
Being a police officer for 27 years, several of the criminals i personally apprehended were pictured in the paper with a female officer walking them to the police care the last 10 steps.
Sincerely, Bill (Whatever happened to equality?) |
