Just How Right Wing Were the Left Wing Nazis?:

Hmm... Well,
Hitler himself had this to say::

"
We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." - Adolf Hitler (Speech of May 1, 1927. Quoted by Toland, 1976, p. 306)
Regard the picture most suitably placed on the left hand side of the screen. Now as you will notice, a number of things jump out at you with this flag almost immediately. First of all, Its  RED background is very telling. Red is used to  symbolize communist/socialist governments. Don't even get me started on Canada!
Secondly, you don't have to be German to make out the term 'National Socialist' in the title of the ensignia.  Another interesting revelation given what you'd been taught in school eh comrade?

The Swatiska was chosen to symbolize the joining together of socialists under the banner of the National Socialist German Worker's Party. The symbol was rotated to emphasize the apearance of two intertwined "S"'s.
Two s's for "Socialist Solidarity".

The last thing I want to point out about the flag, (I'm starting to feel like some kind of deraged art critic here), is the fact that the flag contains the all too familiar
peace wreath of the United Nations. Ah, the snapping sound of pieces clicking neatly into place.

A Little History Lesson

Another strangely absent piece of historical information  in the right wing Nazi mythology comes from the very start of hostilities: The USSR (Union of Soviet
Socialist Republics) formed an alliance with the National SOCIALIST German Workers' Party to invade Poland. The invasion was initiated by the National SOCIALIST German Workers' Party on September the 1st, followed by an invasion by the Soviets on September the 17th.

The written agreement by the two cooperating
SOCIALIST entities divided Poland along the line of the Vistual, but also most of Eastern Europe. The USSR would take Finlald, Estonia, Latvia, and Bessarabia; the National SOCIALIST German Workers' Party took everthing to the West of these regions, including Lithuania. This agreement was followed up with a trade treaty along with arrangements for large-scale exchange of raw materials and armaments.

Of course there are variations of socialist, just as there are variations of capitalist democracy, and there are variations in what individual nations need and want. So, just as capitalist nations fight with one another over resources, among other things, so too communist/socialist countries fight for a greater piece of the pie. Marxist rhetoric would declare this would not happen as workers will unite one with another to the erasure of national and party boundaries, however Marxist rhetoric is no different than any other kind of rhetoric. In short, the two nations clashed thereafter.
