The Sukkah

Just wanted to share a little about my Sukkot.
At Home
This year we decided to that we too would put up a sukkah. We would put it up downstairs next to the building. Barbara ( my German flatemate ) and myself busied ourselves getting together what we would need in terms of supplies to create walls, and roofing. We found, near a dumpster, some discarded roofing (just a little) and some discarded branches. We then scoured cupboards for old sheets, cloths, whatever we could find. Then we got started. As we started, it was quite amazing , but one of the neighbours saw us, and ended up giving us some suggestions and some poles for the 4 corners of the Sukkah. Another stopped to offer some decorations, yet another gave us enough roofing for us to be able to complete the roof. While we were out shopping, someone else (don't know who) put up a decoration - so it actually became quite a community Sukkah. They were just so happy and intrigued at us putting it put. The most unusual thing about it though, is that the poles and the extra roofing actually came from two sides of a community conflict. The police had been out a few times over the last 6 months over their disputes and arguments. It i such a lovely opportunity to show grace and the Lords love to bothe sides who understand that we have not taken sides in a conflict that has olarised the community. The man of one side of the conflict had actually commented that the other side had finally decided to do something nice for the "community".  Maybe the seeds of reconciliation. We lit candles (no electricity) and had dinner in the Sukkah, and our guest (a guy), slept overnight in the Sukkah. I could just see him having lots of fun, fending off the buildings street cats. They had managed to pinch one of our chicken legs, whilst we were not looking. Anyway, he survived.
Working and the Feast Celebration
I started working with the nursing contingent, for the feast, and it was a wonderful night of celebration at Sultans Pool, an outside venue near the old city. The music in song and dance was wonderful.  It certainly has been a blessing to be able to see so many people from 80 different nations here for the feast. A Biblical prophecy fullfilled that talks about the nations coming up to celebrate the feast of Tabernacles. This is the feast of ingathering and reminds us that God is an Agricultural God. Seed time and Harvest. The feasts are built around their agricultural calender. As the medical team, the only injury we had was....me !  Yes I went over, and fell, gashed and hurt my hand and knee. No big deal but 2 days later, I had the sun in my eyes walking to work in the morning, moved to the side to allow someone to pass me, and went over a step near one of the stall in the market. I landed full witght on my chest, with my lower chest hitting the step. I felt winded and sick. I managed to make it to work and then after a sit down, BP (which was up) and oxygen level (which was not what it should be) was sent home.....after refusing to see the doctor. I think I may have cracked one or two ribs. The pain was awful but I am recovering well now. A couple of days after, I went in to one of the sessions at the celebration, which was on healing, and during the session, the pain began to dramatically decrease.  Praise the Lord, I could feel the healing had started.  Anyway, better let you go, and I will write again soon, and I have posted some pictures here of our Sukkah.  Blessing from Jerusalem ....
