| The Joseph Storehouse is the place that I have been working as a volunteer at, for the last 4 years. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Storehouse is a humanitarian aid centre, near Jerusalem in Israel. It was started by Barry and Batya Segal, after their daughter Meytal lost some army | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| colleges in a number 18 bus bombing. They felt that they wanted to do something practically for the country as it facing a crisis of terror like they had never before. Their desire was to make it mainly medical, but they now provide clothes, food and toiletries for needy families. They also give financial support to victims of terror. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It has been up and running since around 1996 - 97. I started work with them at the end of 1999. I met them at one of their conferences in the UK and I saw their literature of the work that they were doing. I was impre ssed with the fact that the Lord heart is for the widow, the orphan, and the needy. The situation in Israeli had certainly put strain on most people here in Israel in one way or another. Tourism had been effected drastically at the time with the wave of terror. If it had an effect on the hotels then it touched the suppliers of the hotels the restaurant owners and workers, the shopkeepers and so on. The Hospitals and medical care services were effected by the number of people who required extended, and in some cases, continuing care from them, not just the people killed or the initial emergency care of those injured. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Meytal is incharge of distribution tofamilies I work with the medical supplies as my background is Nursing and so that involves liasing with various hospitals, emergency clinics, hospices and also Vetinary Clinics. Individuals that need help in the home can also get aid, where required. Donations are sent from the United States, the UK, Germany and also Australia. So I thought now I would put together a few pictures of those past and present volunteers, and some of our get togethers. |
