Situation in the Land
The situation is quite tense here regarding Iran. There is a real sense that something needs to be done before they have the capability to attack. They are certainly within 2 years of reaching what is called here, "the point of no return" in which they will have full nuclear capabilitiy. It now has a very high agenda here, along with Syria. God's wisdom is needed by this government both internally and externally. The feeling is that they are really floundering and indecisive. Apparantly the polls show they would definitely not get in if an election was to happen now. Quite different to when Sharon was leading the party.
Please pray for this situation. Thank the Lord that He is in control and that we can cry out to Him for His hand in the situation, what ever form that may take. Psalm 138:7-8
There were protests and riots here to do with the running of a gay parade , here in Jerusalem. The religious were saying it would be an abomination, and I have to agree with them. They demonstrated but it was still to go ahead. Praise the Lord, in the end the police said they did not have the resourses for them to run it and so it was reduced to a party in a University Campus that didn't involve anyone from outside thier group.
Thank the Lord that this affront was not allowed to go ahead.
There are many many rockets coming in from Gaza, and unfortunately it looks set for another situation there.
Please pray for wisdom in this situation for the Government and for protection for our brothers and sisters in Gaza. They are in a tough position from both sides.
Personally please pray for the contacts I have at work, both at the hospital and the clinic, and the conversations I have with my fellow staff members, many opportunities come up to share and I want the Lords words, and wisdom.
Also please pray that the Lord will give me increasing grace with the language. I would love to be able to sit the exam in Hebrew eventually and so need to really go ahead in leaps and bounds in this.
Pray for us as flatmates. We are such a varied mix and from different cultures and backgrounds. We need the Lords grace, love and understanding. Thank the Lord for those He chooses to bring along and into our lives.
