Have also heard since I got back that Australia has issued a travel advisory for Israel. Not sure if this just applies to the PA controlled area of the West Bank and Gaza or generally. I know the threat is now kidnappings instead of bombs and is it getting increasingly difficult to actually get into Israel proper with one. Since Hamas has gain office the situation here is quite volatile. With the added element of the Israeli elections coming up, I guess it is no wonder they have done this. Sharon remains in a coma and the new party is still set to win victory under Ehud Olmert, who would, I gather be willing to cede further land in order to move ahead in negotiations. Mind you, already coastal cities are receiving rockets fired from Gaza since Hamas took over and so it certainly doesn't look like there is any peace partner there !!! And this week the Israeli entry into the prison in Jericho to get custody of a terrorist leader has resulted in widespread anger at the actions. Briton has been accused of collusion in that operation. They will be I guess needing to look at uping security around their interests and in the UK itself.
We have also had outbreak of Bird Flu in the south of the country. Hundreds of thousands of chickens are going to have to be culled. It is the deadly form of Avian Flu, confirmed now.
Anyway I have put just a couple of photo's of the area so you can see a little of where I live. I noticed that a few people in Australia would have like to see that and so am going to comply with their wishes :) I will add some more as I get them and won't put them all in at the one time.
I think I will finish here for now with perhaps some prayer and praise points.
Prayer Points
- Please pray that Mum continues to improve, and thank the Lord for what He has already
done. He is faithful to His word.
- Please pray His provision in over these next few months as I was not able to work as I had
planned. Thank Him that He has already started to provide through friends and through the moving in of this girl, Margo.
- Please pray that He will make it clear if this is to be a long term arrangement and pray for out establishing of relationship....for peace, support and friendship between us because the word says that they will know we are His disciples by our love for one another.
- Please pray for Daphna, Helick, Sheli, Effie Yigal and Limor. Helick I know is going through a tough time at the moment, as is Effie and they certainly do like to think people pray for them.
That Daphna and I will get quality time together when she comes back in May and that maybe there would be another believer to befriend her in the Czech Republic. Thank him for the people that He puts in our lives and in our spheres of influence. What a privilege it is !!! Please pray for more opportunites to share His hope and love with them.
- Please pray for the situation here in the land with bird flu also. Protection and swift resolution to the problem and support for those who have lost their livelihood at this time.
- Please pray that I will be healthy and refreshed for starting work once again.
- Please pray for the upcoming elections here, both for the Lords will in the outcome but also safely during the process as they are always potentially dangerous times. What happens here has such incredible impact on the rest of the world. Thank Him that the result is in His hands and that He knows the end from the beginning. He gives us the privilege of being involved through prayer.
- Thank and Praise Him that He is faithful and the one to whom we can turn and in whom we can trust completely !!!!
