My definition of the word discipline as I understand it is to train a child by using consequences and rewards for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.

 

10 administrative/teacher practices associated with student behaviors:

 

1)  set high expectations for students

2)  make sure the students know the consequences/rewards for behavior

3)  Enforce rules consistently

4)  Communicate a child’s behavior with parents

5)  Have teachers get to know students as individuals

6)  Establish clear rules and procedures for students

7)  hold students accountable for their work and actions

8)  fairness when administering discipline

9)  create opportunities for students to experience success

10) monitor students and give appropriate feedback for their behavior

 

My definition of behavior managements as I understand it is controlling events and activities that take place in order to have a positive learning environment

 

10 administrative/teacher practices associated with student behaviors

 

1)      be fair and consistent when administering discipline

2)      clear communication to the students about expectations

3)      communication between parents and teacher

4)      teachers handle all discipline problems that they can

5)      enhance teachers skills as classroom managers and disciplinarians

6)      model appropriate behaviors for students

7)      separate students that are known to misbehave

8)      provide positive feedback when appropriate

9)      try to find out why the student is making the choices he or she is making

10)  provide appropriate work/activities for students so they can be successful
