Jareth sings of his jealousy of Hoggle's friendship with Sarah, and his need to get closer to her. -- I once gave her a care I was so stupid then Although I was fair That dwarf became her friend Which was a big surprise Sarah left me high and dry I'll just die all alone A heart-broken elfin shmo Oh no, why me? I lost her to a gnome Lost face to disgrace I can't get the little girl I laughed and waved my hand And made a crystal ball I changed it to a peach And pressed it on the gnome He gazed a baffled stare At the poisoned fruit I said give it to the girl So she'll love me and not a gnome Who knows? She'll see Soon as she eats my peach I'll take Hoggle's place And turn Sarah's world Who knows? I'll see I'm better than a troll My balls are great I'll rock Sarah's world
