I am Fr. Sirenio T. Jaranilla, O.Carm. ordained Priest last December 28, 1998 in my hometown Imbatug, Baungon, Bukidnon.  I was born on April 24, 1969. Year 1985, I entered Pope John XXIII College Seminary in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.  In the year 1989, after a thorough meditation, I decided to become a religious and joined the Order of Carmelites (O.Carm.). From Bukidnon, I learned to value the voice of God in the "Bukid" (Mountain), thus it is not strange that I was attracted to the pinnacle of Carmel, the mountain revered by may men and women throughout the history.

My parents are David Jaranilla from Bito-on, Jaro, Ilo-ilo and my mother is Nida Tagocon, a native of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.  We are three siblings in the family.  Our eldest sister, Maria Asuncion and our youngest brother is Daniel.  Maria Asuncion is married with three children.  My brother, Daniel finished his BS-Mathematics in Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro.

I was assigned for three years in Mount CArmel College, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur as Administrative Officer and teacher.  Here, I also helped in the organization of Carmel Youth, an affiliate to the Order of Carmelites who are young and dynamic.  Drawing from the experience of encountering God in the "Bukid" and the Carmelites' rich tradition, I journeyed with the Carmel Youth.  In them, one can see the young Jesus eager to learn about life.

But since man's life is always on a journey and we have to follow the will of God wherever we will be, thus the assignments of a religious changes from time to time.  I am now assigned as the Bursar of our General Commissariat, a task never expected but can be handled with the cooperation of the brotherhood.  At the same time, I became the Spiritual Director of the Lay Carmelites in the Philippines.  From the young, I went to work with the "not so young"... Please pray that I can perform my duties to the fullest and in conformity of God's will.
