3. The Rotating Cabinet

What the Heck is That !?!

As stated before, know what you want. I wanted: a rotating cocktail cabinet and enough space for 2 players, each one with one joystick and 6 buttons.

The strange and ugly hole in the middle of the table will be filled by the rotating video mechanism.

On the back, note the additional wood for supporting the future base of the rotational mechanism.

So here it is!

The base for the rotational mechanism!

And here is the baby!

Using ordinary wheels, I built all the schema for a video cockpit. It´s tight enough to deal with a pre-selected video brand without using any screws on it since its inclined (its own weight will solve the gravity problem).

Some space between corners were intentional to provide enough room and mobility for the cables.

The mechanism is based on a big screw spinning on a metal "glove", giving it all the freedom it needs but being hard enough to support all the monitor weight.

I drilled the hole onto the base and ensured that this hole will not the "enlarged" during its use by putting on it a piece of copper tube.

Here is the base screw to hold all the system.

Final touches to the "movement mechanism" using anothe pieace of tube making the video cockpit easy to revolve on its own axis.

The final aparatus!

Upper view of the video cockpit mounted on its base.

and voilá!

Now I have a 90 degree rotating monitor!
