Artificial Design Earthquake Ground Motion for Dynamic Time History Analysis According to the 2nd and 3rd Draft of Indonesian Seismic Code SNI 1726-1999 |

ABSTRACT
In order to calculate the seismic response of structures using time history analysis method, Indonesian Seismic Design Code (SNI = Standar Nasional Indonesia) requires the use of minimally four-earthquake accelerograms which has happened (original earthquake) that is scaled on maximum acceleration until get the same value with nominal maximum acceleration at observed place (SNI earthquake). This is caused by there is no design earthquake, which is one modification earthquake accelerograms that can be used in the time history analysis. . This research has been done to propose design earthquake by doing the modification of SNI earthquake accelerogram, so this will create a new artificial earthquake accelerogram that has consistent response spectra with Indonesian seismic design code. The new earthquake accelerogram is called modification earthquake. This modification process can be done by using Resmat computer program. In this research, parameter that being compared are lateral shear force and maximum displacement of SNI earthquake and modification earthquake according to 2nd draft revision SNI 1726-1998 and 3rd draft revision SNI 1726-1999, for different kind of structures which is placed on fourth region with soft soil. The structure being observed is simple building with regular and symmetrical shape in plan, which has 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 floors. ETABS computer program is used to analyze linear time history. Earthquake load which is burdened to every structure is five original and modification earthquakes, those are, Denpasar, El Centro, Pacoima, Parkfield, and Pasadena earthquake. Finally, from this research can be found out that all of five modification earthquakes can be used as a design earthquake for time history analysis according to 2nd draft revision SNI 1726-1998 and 3rd draft revision SNI 1726-1999.
