"One of my favourite records I've ever been part of"

During her time with the Dambuilders, Joan always found time to play with other bands and her friends. In 1996 she and fellow Dambuilder, Kevin March joined Mary Timony and Nathan Larson in Mind Science of the Mind, a short lived side project started by Larson. The four piece recorded a single, self titled cd and played a week long tour on the east coast that same year, with musician, Jeff Buckley on bass. The record received good reviews but the project fell dormant with demands of their primary bands. The group has yet to reassemble, but  the music is great fun and well worth the listen.

Joan and Nathan continue to collaborate. In 2001, both appeared on Nina Persson's A-Camp release and in January 2004, Joan joined Nathan and Persson at the Sundance film festival. Later in the year Joan also appeared on "The Things We Do", by Angela McClusky, which Larson co-wrote and produced. In 2005 Joan co-wrote and performed on the soundtrack to "A Love Song for Bobby Long".

Nathan Larson and Kevin March have gone on to form HOT ONE with Emm Gryner and Jordan Kern.
