UPN28/38’s Wrestler of the
Week
(week ending 08/21/04)
Kurt
Angle
Accomplishment:
Kurt Angle is returning from near-career ending neck surgery, or if you prefer the WWE story line, from injuries sustained to his leg after a chokeslam from a 20-ft high balcony from the Big Show. At SummerSlam, Angle cleanly defeated Eddie Guererro, the man who had defeated him at WrestleMania, by making him tap out to the anklelock. Four days later at SmackDown!, Angle attacked what Eddies seems to value most, his low-rider, defacing it with two bucketfuls of white paint.

Tidbits:
Aside from being a 1996 Olympic gold medallist, Kurt Angle is one of the most decorated champions in WWE. During his short tenure in WWE, angle has won virtually every title possible. If fact, Kurt won the European, Intercontinental, 2000 King of the Ring, and WWE Title all in his first year in WWE. Championship gold is synonymous with Kurt Angle since there is hardly a moment when he is neither holding a title or a top contender for a major title. Many consider Angle one of the most versatile and technically sound wresters in the U.S. today. Upon miraculously being healed from injuries incurred after an off the balcony chokeslam, Angle removed from his General Manager of SmackDown position and returned to the active roster by Chairman Vince McMahon. After a strong showing against Eddie Guererro at SummerSlam, another WWE title reigns is not unfathomable in the near future.
