Best friend, companion, guardian angel ... the JS is the dream-dog for every dog lover. It combines all the gentle features that are sought after in the dog world with the alertness of an alarm dog, and the vitality and good physical condition of a work dog . If you don't believe me just read on...
CHARACTER OF THE JS
If I could choose six  words to describe the character of the js those would be noble, kind-hearted, enthousiastic, tender, alert and highly intelligent.
I've been around dogs all my life and I can safely say that the JS belongs in the elite of the K9 world! It is trully a small dog that can do just about anything! Be a faithful comp
anion, guard the house, escort you on your daily jogging run or weekend in the mountains, it will go to any length to enjoy the company of its family! You will also be surprised by the intelligence of this little creature. After a few months of age it will show a unique ability to read your mind! Sometimes I feel that my Beauty is always a step ahead of me!
But its not just the amiable and energetic nature of the js that make it unique. Its also the sheer nobility of this breed. The JS is indeed a true gentleman towards any other animal species (exept cats!)! For instance I was once visiting a friends house. This friend kees a little hamster by the name of Cookie in the kitchen. As we were sitting  in the living room I gave Beauty a snack. She took it, ran in the kitchen
and pushed it inside the hamster cage! The little rodent literally took the food out of the dogs mouth. Which is a big thing considering that dogs are famed mouse hunters!!
Of course all is not peachy in the land of the JS. As all living things the Js has some "flaws" that you shold be aware of. First of all it is a "loud" dog that will bark whenever it feels someone approaching your front dog. Of course this is not as problematic as most people think, because the dog can be easily trained to bark  only when nescessary. So it's up to you to turn this quality to your advantage.
The Js is also a rather "demanding" dog when it comes to exercise. Unlike most small dog breeds, the JS needs a lot of exercise. Long walks and an occasional run in the park will help the dog maintain its physical condition. If you are a person that spends the entire day in front of the TV you should consider getting a cat!!
If you think you can deal with these minor "inconveniences" I can guarantee that the next 10-15 years will be the most interesting of your life!!
