Kyu, a middle school student with the goal of one day becoming a great detective, joined Dan Detective School(DDS). Not only was this school founded by the legendary detective Dan Morihiko, but it was also the only detective academy in Japan where students can use weapons.
Kyu and a group of friends he meets take the entrance exam together and qualify for "Class Q" of DDS. Being in the same class allows Kyu to further recognize his friends abilities. Megumi has her photographic memory, Kinta has a martial arts background, Kazuma has a lot of experience with computer programming, and Ryu has a gift a lot like Kyu when it comes to detective work. Together they try to solve many tough cases.
