Kurosaki Ichigo is the main character in this series. He seems like a normal 15 year old student when you don't consider the fact that he can see ghosts. Recently he has just begun to interact and speak with these ghosts. During his his encounter with the ghost of a little girl, he runs into a "Soul Reaper" by the name of Kuchiki Rukia. She explains to him that a Soul Reaper has two main jobs. The first is to perform a soul funeral on pluses, good spirits that roam around due to fear of what awaits them in the afterlife, that sends them to a the soul society. The second job is to kill and vaporize Hollows, evil spirits that attack both the living and dead in order to devourer their souls. After he is given certain powers, he becomes a Soul Reaver and begins his adventures in order to rid the world of evil spirits.
