Imperial Japanese Navy

After a very successful campaign against the Russians in the Russ-Japanese war, the Japanese Imperial Navy learned a great deal of tactics and possible design improvements for future ships.  It was learned that the larger caliber guns did the most damage  and as a result battleships throughout the world were being fitted with all large guns (Dreadnoughts).  The Japanese Imperial Navy's battleship fleet can be best described as being extremely powerful, but small in number.  With the advancements with the aircraft carrier, the days of the battleships were numbered.
