Prologue
February 1st, 2366, Planet Terra
Suddenly the lights whent out but were soon restored a few moments later. "Mr.Secretary! The Yamato Network has gone done system wide!" said a panicked security guard. Suddenly a giant explosion erupted in the courtyard shattering glass across the room and knocking Arnold, Markov and the 4 bodyguards in the room to the floor. "What was tha..." telming was suddenly cut off by a pistol 2 centimetres from his face. "My eployer wants you alive so i suggest you do as i say" ordered Markov. Suddenly all 4 guards got up and aimed their sidearms at the traitor. "Put the gun down Markov, i have questions especially that of who hired you to betray me!" yelled Telming.
The door burst open a massive 6'10'' giant stormed through the door, aimed his pistol at each of the guards, and discharged a trinnium bullet into each of their skulls. "Same guy who hired me!" said the giant. So much for 5 years of peace thought Arnold as he was dragged away.
The Trinnium Wars was a devastating war, not in terms of human losses, but its effect on the economy. In 2364, large deposits of trinnium, magnanium and even some illumnium were found on the Spin-Rim worlds. This threw the U.E.G. into a gold rush, companies hurried to get what they could and make their pockets even deeper. But this came with a consequence, as unowned deposits became scarce the billion dollar coporations began to fight over them with force, using highly skilled mercenaries. They knew the U.N.S.C. would soon respond so they quickly kidnapped the Secretary of Defense, trying to slow down the U.E.G..
No one knows for sure, but just before the capture of the Secretary, the Yamato Network was destroyed by a small mercenary fleet. The network tracked all movement of human worlds and allowed ships to Spacefold in without worrying about being inside a planet. With that destroyed communication and public travel died. People were too afriad to make random jumps. The Trinnium wars was a war of resources and technology.
