Sexuality as an Artistic Outlet
Sexuality as an Artistic Outlet:

Both heterosexuals and homosexuals exhibit artistic qualities.  Freud's study at the Universities also consisted of an investigation into the artistic outlet, in this part of the study he also considered sports as an artistic outlet as well.  In order to obtain a larger sample of subjects, from a more diverse area.

Heterosexual Artistic Outlets:

The data collected from the University showed that heterosexual men  preferred to do much more physical activities.  Men, played football, rugby, and enjoyed crew.  Women, on the other hand also participated in
Freud with his mother
these activities when appropriate.  But they also enjoyed dancing, painting and cooking.
Homosexual Artistic Outlets:

Homosexual males did not prefer such physical activites as mentioned above.  Instead, a large percentage of them were found to be participating in plays, and ballet dances.  Although, there was a more significant part of homosexual males painting, and singing.
One particular case that Freud examined was of a male who had gone through a severe breakdown the previous year.  He related that he "painted abstract pictures of male reproductive organs in oil paints in his room".  He also was obsessed with saying such words as: "penis, ass, and rectum".  He had been asked to leave for the semester and it was his first semester back when Freud examined him.  Freud went on to write a paper about this individual called, "Art and Sex: A Case study of a Homosexual Man".
