Jon & Kitty's Cruise
This is our ship docked in Cabo San Lucas.  The Diamond Princess  had 14 floors and carried approximately 2,200 passengers.  There were another 1,200 in crew.  It was really a small city with 9 restaurants, movie theatre, casino, fitness club, disco, several bars, and lots of decks to walk.
The food was wonderful and service was gracious.
To the right is one of the sunsets that we saw from our balcony on the trip down to Mexico.
We made several stops on our cruise.  One was in Puerta Vallarta.  We took an excursion up into the mountains.  The brochure described our transportation as a Mercedes Benz touring bus.  That touring bus was a Mercedes, but were old troop carriers that had been purchased from the Austrian army as surplus.  It was still fun bouncing around the mountains at 45 degree angles.
Kit and I decided that we had never been on a cruise before and wanted to try it.  We chose the Princess Cruise line because of the good things that I read on-line.  We chose a cruise that departed from Los Angeles.  The ship then stopped in Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.  We went on excursions in each city.  Each city was very diverse.  Puerta Vallarta was near the rain forest, Mazatlan was close to the mountains, and Cabo San Lucas was seaside town with huge mansions and yachts.
After the cruise, we spent time in Lost Angeles since Kitty had not been there before.  We went to the Getty Museum with all of its beautiful and exotic pieces.  the next day we went on a tour of the area that included Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Universal Studios.  Lots of fun.
